Songs of Aisha Al-Marta
The concert represents a journey into understanding Aisha Al Marta musical legacy. As a singer with a raspy gravelly voice, the late artist was known for endearing performances full of sorrow. She also had a distinctive style of singing, which made old Samri songs more popular. In this evening, the audience will enjoy a compilation of Al-Marta beautiful songs and the different styles she performed between old and modern Samri, as well as contemporary tunes composed exclusively for her in various types of Kuwaiti music such as Ashouri and Sawt.
And just as music used to be played without amplification for hundreds of years, “Without a Microphone” evenings bring melodies and songs in their purest form, without the use of microphones, mixers, or speakers. Conductor Khaled Noori leads a large musical ensemble, composed of 50 virtuoso musicians and singers.
